A word used in fandoms “headcanon”-is there a word in Japanese for it? Japanese Language Stack Exchange
All the same, Iwouldn’t be doing my due diligence if I didn’t try to look at the ways thatthese things do differ. Butagain, headcanon and fanon doesn’t haveto come from fan theories and can be something that isn’t verifiable. See, forexample, my headcanon genarator that Pandora Lovegood is secretly the 13th Doctor, whichcame to me unconsciously. Furthermore, as I mentioned before, headcanons do not have to come from fan theories.
I’ve seen it particularly in social situations, where you encounter a powerful entity who so discards your characters’ challenges as so trivial and meaningless that it just sours things very early. I guess my point is pretty much the same as Andreah’s. That your head canon should be self-contained and actually leave room for roleplaying and others to roleplay as well. Head canon is fine and all, but your head canon has to leave room for other people to also be super heroes in a super hero game.
Ultimately, official canon is much smaller than the people who throw the term around like to think it is. Canonicity is limited to that which has actually been described in the source material. Especially in groups of writers, it boils down to what the writers specifically need to worry about for the purposes of the ongoing plot. Now don’t interpret this as me saying you must like or even read all of the EU. I absolutely detest Barbra Hambly’s writing style and the Invasion comics were a legitimate pain for me to get through.
Idk if someone else has thought of this before, but hear me out on this new worldbuilding headcanon for Minecraft. Phantoms pose the same ecological role as IRL vultures. The reason a lot of them swarm (and even attack) the player when they haven’t gotten sleep is because they sense lack of energy (which, for a lot of animals means death is nearby) and assume the player is either dead or dying. Marcille has very conservative ideas about a lot of stuff, including gender roles. It’s a pretty significant part of her characterization.
headcanon generator is a slang term for someone’s personal interpretation of or belief about the details of a fictional story that aren’t part of the “official” account. In this strip, Black Hat tells Cueball that he has a “new headcannon”. Cueball, thinking Black Hat means “headcanon,” inquires what Black Hat’s new idea is. Instead of the expected idea or theory, Black Hat removes his hat to reveal a tiny cannon on his head which blows away Cueball and his computer desk. Baldwin continued reading the document that had kept him in the office all morning. The love behind your voice was something that he’d never fully get used to, but he appreciated it more than he could ever put into words.
I feel like this comes from some kind of high school AU WarCraft fan comic. Someone tell Blizzard that I volunteer to untangle Night Elf history and make it make sense. These classic Peanuts strips capture the humor and heart of Schulz’s work, showcasing moments that still resonate with fans decades later. The new Ultimate Universe could revamp several overlooked Marvel side characters, finally making these secondary heroes more important than ever. The Garfield comics by Jim Davis have been entertaining for decades. While still funny, some of the most hilarious material is found in early issues.
